While this site is primarily devoted to my IT skills and training, this page will give you a glimpse of who I am.

Growing up in the Pacific Northwest, I have come to love the wet. It quenches our thirsty vegetation and (some of) our spirits.

I married my wife when we were both too young to know better and have joyfully raised two bright and capable daughters, one of whom works as a research scientist for Weyerhauser. The younger teaches high school mathematics in South Central Los Angeles.

We have been blessed with opportunities to live and work in Seattle, Portland and New York.

I'm an advocate for business, large and small. I love the mechanics of business development, client satisfaction, product design and process innovation. To me, there is nothing more satisfying than seeing the diverse parts of an organization reach a level of harmony that brings workers reward and produce profits that match the value it adds.

Computer programming or Information Technology (IT) provides me the ultimate satisfaction and inspiration. In IT work, the marriage of the creative process, disciplined thinking and precise implementation (craftsmanship) - is just the best. That it simultaneously solves problems and makes the processes you are supporting function more quickly, effectively or profitably is a double reward.
